I've decided to use my Randomby blog to discuss my IRC plans,
First on the agenda is the future of the Five League Football card game...
It's going to end eventually. I've always said so. My recent thought processes have been as follows:
- I want Five League Football to end with a bang, and that will take some time to prepare
- I have a massive secret website project I'm working on with Dae, so I don't have much free time
- Therefore, I will just let the game continue for now
However, the massive secret website project is now launched (you're looking right at it, you idiot). So now I can afford to think about Five League Football. My thoughts:
- I want as many people who are currently collecting teams to have them finished before the game ends as possible
- I want to start a brand new card game some time after Five League Football finishes
Wait, what was that?
You heard me.
My design concepts (and i really love bullet points):
- The game must appeal to more people than Five League Football does
- The card game should be more involved somehow than Five League Football
- It should be a bit easier to finish off a set, let's say 20 cards in a set instead of 27
Basically instead of football teams, the game would feature sets of popular culture cards. Think Lord of the Rings. Pokemon. Dragonball Z.
It should be a really cool game, and I already have a list of sets in mind.
My list is far too small. Please leave comments with your suggestions for this game. Which card sets you'd like to see and how you would improve on the card game itself.
I haven't set a date for the end of Five League Football just yet. Assume at least six weeks from now.

Anyways, Star Wars gotta be in there for sure, and why not include Star Trek too? And it might be nice to include a disney set for the girls
(and for me cause disney is pretty cool). I'm sure I'll get more ideas but I haven't had my tea yet, and without that I just can't start. As for how to improve the game itself... that's a real tough one...

Star Trek and Star Wars are givens, I am a sci-fi nerd after all. I need even more set suggestions. To get 500 cards in the game would need 25 different sets for example. The best part is that unlike the football cards they won't go out of date
And about making the game more involved, I am thinking about minigames, tokens, that kind of thing

But I take it you're talking about everyone on DF irc is. Mostly. No, all. I think. Would be cool to have Nelis, alone, Cono/Cryptic...and the rest. I only remember G&c names... (NO to a certain member of G&c! You all know who.)
